"Look for your own. Do not do what someone else could do as well as you. Do not say, do not write what someone else could say, could write as well as you. Care for nothing in yourself but what you feel exists nowhere else. And, out of yourself create, impatiently or patiently, the most irreplaceable of beings."

Children are not Born Evil!

EXTRACT: "Communists flatly reject the almost medieval concept of ‘evil’ that has surfaced once again during the Edlington case. No-one is born ‘evil’, whether they are Adolf Hitler, JV Stalin or the Edlington boys. We in the CPGB believe that all human beings are redeemable or can be rehabilitated - under the right set of circumstances (or the right sort of treatment). Surely the subsequent history of Jon Venables and Robert Thompson amply confirms this, even if Denise Fergus is too blinded by grief and anger to see it herself - with The Sun around to make sure she never does. Clearly, thanks to the specialised and intensive education these two people received, they started to flourish academically and are now - for sure - qualitatively different individuals from the alienated and highly disturbed children who killed James Bulger. Why cannot the same go for the Edlington boys? Beyond that, communists fight for a society where all our children - not just the Eton-educated elite like David Cameron - are provided with sufficient resources and the sheer time to develop into fully rounded human beings". Oppose Alan Johnson's banning of Islam4UK!

EXTRACT: "But as militant defenders of free speech communists oppose all measures which give the authorities the right to decide what can and cannot be said, or to adjudicate as to what is 'correct' or not, or to decree what is 'hateful' or not. Communists have long argued that backward and reactionary ideas - whether they come from Islam4UK, the British National Party or the English Defence League - are generally best fought in the open, where they have no room to hide and fester: least of all by state bans and proscriptions. Cardinally, by opposing Alan Johnson's ban on Islam4UK/al-Muhajiroun we in the CPGB are defending the democratic rights of our class and its fight for socialism and revolution". READ MORE:

Terrorism, the Underwear Bomber and the Yemen

"Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab’s globe-trotting career as a would-be terrorist, and chronically alienated human being, demonstrates the truly global and interconnected nature of the problems facing us - just as with the environment and carbon emissions. No part of the world is immune from the ravages of capitalism and imperialism - or despairing terrorism, which Marxists have always opposed. However, the CPGB remains committed to the fight for the immediate withdrawal of all imperialist troops from Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, etc. Democracy, secularism, women’s rights and social advance can only be won by the renewal and intensification of class struggle and the politics of revolutionary democracy, not through the acts of alienated terrorists - and certainly not through the machinations and manoeuvres of the imperialist powers".
